We love all of our couples, but when we book a military couple, our hearts overflow with pride and excitement. Being a military spouse has got to be one of the hardest challenges a marriage can face. Maintaining a deeply connected union via long distance and all the unknowns that come with the job are stressful, but Lindsay & Dustin are up for the challenge. They had a little practice on laying the groundwork for a long distance relationship.
They met 20 years ago when Lindsay’s college field hockey team joined an organization that assigned each player a pen pal which happened to be an overseas American soldier. Even though this long distance connection would build a friendship that would last a lifetime life pulled them in different directions and they lost touch. As fate would have it they reconnected years later.
Lindsay’s personal vows proved that when she laid eyes on him, it was love at first sight.
They chose a more intimate gathering that only included their dear, dear friends and family. Their gorgeous day took place on a private beach in Virginia Beach, VA. They didn’t need to add a backdrop because the natural rocks on the beach were breathtaking enough. The waves that came crashing onto them were truly beautiful.
Lindsay’s entrance was a nice long approach from the boardwalk to the edge of where the water kissed the sand. She deserved that long walk, it gave everyone the opportunity to admire her beauty.
The planning phase that lead up to this most beautiful celebration revealed to us that this pair was a goofy, free-spirited, down-to-earth couple so it was such a touching moment to see them so serious about each other.
Their first dance was one we will never forget. They had prepared for this moment by taking dance lessons. We were in awe at how great they executed their choreography. Dustin lifted Lindsay and spun her around and ended with a dramatic dip and tender smooch.
Dustin & Lindsay chose to have a margarita themed dinner and it was AMAZING. With freshly made margaritas and self-serve taco bar, the guests were having the time of their lives. Laughter and smiles filled the tent and every space in-between. So many years of friendship filled each hug as the bride and groom went around visiting each table during dinner.
What an amazing wedding to be a part of!
Here’s to the newlyweds Dustin & Lindsay! May you fight hard for love to prevail and may you be victorious against all hardships. Thank you both for your service and sacrifice for this great nation and thank you for letting us be a part of your special day, it was an honor! Xoxo, TSE Team.
