Our job at TSE is to ensure that your special day goes as smoothly and seamlessly as possible, with or without nature’s misfortunes, but it goes without saying, there is probably no bride in the history of ever that wished for rain on her wedding day. Although some people believe its a sign of a blissful and happy marriage for the bride and groom, it’s never easy to accept a torrential downpour on the best day of your life. Sheri, Mike, and their entire wedding party are a true example of how to stay positive and make the best out of a little bad luck.

Sheri and Mike exchanged their vows at the stunning Hornsby House Inn in Historic Yorktown. After fighting with the weather all day, we finally made the last minute decision to hold a standing ceremony outside. Sheri arrived in horse-drawn carriage with a clear umbrella and a smile on her face. Although the day may not have gone as originally planned, we made it work- – and it certainly helped to have a positive and flexible couple like Sheri and Mike.

The perfect indoor reception put the weather outside to shame. The night was filled with great people , all of the best dance moves, sentimental speeches, and of course, cake that tasted as good as it looked. We had a blast celebrating the most perfect love shared between Sheri and Mike!

As always, we were able to work with some amazing vendors. Kelly from Kelly Marie Photography totally rocked the rain-soaked photoshoot with ease. Cuisine and Company and Incredible Edibles brought happiness to everyone’s palates with a delicious dinner and cake. And can we talk about the florals from Yorktown Flower Shoppe?! Literally sunshine on a cloudy day. Here’s to a future of working together!
