During the pandemic, weddings are a bit more difficult but not impossible! Here at Timeless Styled Events (TSE) we try our best to make sure our brides have the wedding of their dreams. TSE believes that clarity and communication are of the utmost importance and never more so when planning a celebration in the midst of a pandemic! Here are some tips that will help you get through your Covid-19 wedding.
Smaller Guest List: Since this is a global pandemic everyone is aware of restrictions and occupancy limits so the good news is that a limited guest list is no reflection on you. The challenge is to choose only a few of your most precious guests and not take offense if they decline your invite due to their health concerns or personal fears. Extending grace and respect of one’s concerns and health is a necessity for an event or celebration during Covid. To minimize objections, be clear about the precautions that are in place, let your guests know what they can expect if they attend and let them know what you expect from them. Additionally, if a guest has personal restrictions/needs, make sure to share them with TSE so we can make sure it will/can be accommodated. Clarity and communication cannot be overstressed.
Masks and Hand Sanitizer: Provide in abundance for your guests and vendors. Doing so creates a climate of comfort and added protection. Follow the CDC guidelines to keep yourself and everyone safe so that the fun and joy of the celebration will be the focus.
Recognize your Priorities: Due to the various restrictions you may need to adjust some of your expectations. What is most important to you as a couple? Clarity about the goal, purpose or intended focus is a necessity. Which is more important: the ceremony or the celebration? And if both, find one aspect to focus on and bring it to life. Once you have determined which element or aspect is most important and why, everyone will be committed to making your vision come alive.
Outside Versus Inside: This decision can be stressful as weather is always a contributing factor. Venues have been great about allowing the wedding to be indoors and then move to the outdoors for the remaining portion of the celebration. Ceremony can be indoors, or reception outside. Food can be prepared and served indoors but eaten outside. Talk to us about the various options.
Consider an Elopement: An elopement gives focus to the two of you and the love that you share. It can be as simple as you and your partner or the both you and a few family members or close friends. You could pick a place that is significant to how you met, what you share or somewhere that you find beautiful enough to say “I do”. TSE will help with planning your intimate exchange and then we can also plan the big celebration at a later date.
Vendors/Suppliers: One final thought about your vendors and those who will deliver their products or services on the day of your event: TSE is a big supporter of small/local businesses because of their work ethic, eye for detail and open to custom requests and during Covid they shine even brighter. Their attitude is what do you need and we will make it happen. They too are feeling the stress of the pandemic and they know exactly how you feel. They’re personally invested in your event. There is so little true joy and happiness right now and they want to contribute in their unique way because they want to be part of the joy and celebration of your special day.
Under normal conditions a wedding planner takes the worry and stress out of planning an event. With the overall impact that Covid has on events a wedding planner is essential! We help streamline all the decisions, considerations and adjustments that are necessary in making sure the celebration is all that is remembered. Yes, we are going through a global pandemic but it is possible to have a memorable day that celebrates the true beauty and love between you and your partner.
