At the end of June, in a beautiful backyard ceremony, Holly, one of our dear vendors (a makeup artist with Blushtones), and her groom AJ, pledged their eternal love to one another.
Holly is a dear vendor (and friend!). We saw first hand her heart for AJ. We have seen her overcome many pandemic-related stressors, and AJ was her rock and sounding board during the entire process.
The backdrop to the official start as man and wife was in the backyard of AJ’s father. Gorgeous landscaping with an amazing view of the water was the perfect setting. In preparation for the rather warm day, we placed a hand-held bamboo fan on each chair so that guests were able to remain comfortable throughout the day. The florals and décor that surrounded the ceremony enhanced the simple elegance (as seen below).
As we moved about, we heard the guests describe the setting as gorgeous, wonderful and magnificent. At TSE, the guest’s reaction and experience plays a big part in our planning. To hear them express these sentiments is music to our hearts and the only reward we need after having faced the various challenges of arranging for an outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.
To add a personal touch to the ceremony, Holly’s cousin officiated the wedding! The transitional moment of the entire day was also the sweetest, when Holly and AJ shared their personal, heart-warming vows with each other.
During the cocktail hour, guests were gathered either on the deck or around the pool area below. Guests mingled while enjoying drinks and had fun using the polaroid cameras for photos at the hedge wall display by the pool. As an added touch on the backdrop there was a phrase in wooden letters reading, “You really are something else.”
After their grand entrance and dances, Holly dashed away to change for the reception and add a little surprise. She slipped into a white dress with a beaded bodice. She had chosen something special for their fur baby Darla too. Holly dressed Darla in her cute marble and rose gold collar and leash to match Holly’s dress. The beautiful pair joined AJ for the grand entrance into the reception.
As the night progressed, it was clear that family is important to both the bride and groom. There was a wide variety of music, as Holly and AJ had allowed their family members to select much of it. AJ’s father is Persian, and some of his songs created a lot of excitement as it showed part of his culture. The guests had so much fun dancing the night away!
It’s such a sweet spot for us here at TSE as we watch the bride, groom, family and friends enjoying the music, food, and each other in the magical ambience. We pause to reflect on the special opportunity that our amazing family has entrusted us with. They have let us create a memorable event that they will recall for many years to come.
Finally, before their send-off, Holly and AJ sliced their wedding cakes. Their traditional cake was a Bohemian style with flowers draped down the sides. The remaining cake was a unique blend of who they are as individuals. It was a bride and groom shaped like a guitar because AJ plays guitar. The top of the guitar was adorned with makeup to represent Holly’s background as a makeup artist. It was an amazing piece of art!
They decided on a two-part send-off. First, their guests lined up at the front of the house with sparklers. The sparklers were held high as the bride and groom walked through for pictures and videos. The guests absolutely loved the sparklers because it added another flair (pun intended) to their special day.
Everyone then returned to the backyard to conclude the night. The final wrap up to the evening was an invitation from the Mr. and Mrs. to their family and friends to jump into the pool with them. Original and adventurous! What a wonderful way to end the happiest day of their lives!
Holly and AJ were a joy to work with from beginning to end! And all vendors who came together to make their day seamless were amazing!
Planning the wedding for someone from the industry makes it even more special and exciting!
Congratulations to one of our own, Holly + her new husband, AJ!
Thank you for allowing us to turn your dream into a reality!
