The thing we love most about planning a wedding is that each one is so unique in their own way. Aside from the basic foundation of planning an event, no two weddings have been planned exactly the same. Fresh new ideas, family customs, traditional touches, etc. it is always a wonderful adventure of discovery each time.

Katie & Jake knew exactly what they wanted right from the start and it was so much fun seeing everything unfold on their big day. They are people passionate about the outdoors and place a strong value on protecting the environment and would make sure to tie nature’s characteristics into their day.

Their ceremony took place under the canopy of two huge trees. Each guest took a seat in simple black chairs and enjoyed the beauty of nature.

Jake has a quiet spirit about him, and his love for Katie could be visibly witnessed simply in the emotion on his face; it was touching and it seemed to describe their relationship perfectly. Their vows were personal expressions and they pulled at our heart strings <3

Everything was held outdoors on a magnificent open yard that allowed for a smooth flow of guests. They chose black, forest green, and pops of gold accents to decorate throughout the beautiful space that Wise Acre has to offer.

Jake & Katie’s vision for their reception was more of a big celebration rather than a sit down dinner, so they had more cocktail tables available for guests inviting them to mingle and meet new people. Bigger tables were available for guests who preferred to sit however, we noticed that the cocktail tables were preferred. it was so amazing to see everyone coming together.

The bigger tables and cocktail tables alternated between black and forest green tablecloths and had twinkly lights with rocks, pebbles, and stones spread on top. They gifted their guests with customized mugs so they could enjoy their favorite beer or wine at the open bar. It was something different and we loved it!

Another personal detail of their wedding date is that it is also Jake’s mother’s birthday. Katie made sure to have her favorite cupcake flavor on hand to celebrate her as well. What a kind gesture! It speaks volumes on the depth of their union. Along with the birthday girl’s favorite flavor, lots of different flavors of cake and cupcakes created options sure to meet the preferences of every guest so everyone could enjoy a little treat.

They danced the night away and played yard games until their hearts were satisfied. They even asked the DJ to stay longer so they could continue to celebrate their perfect day.
